Hi and welcome to my blog! Thank you for your interest in my work. To share a little about myself, I have always been a very visual person. Since I was old enough to hold a crayon, I've loved creating images. As a kid, I spent hours and hours drawing, sketching, coloring, or painting whatever I could think of. There was something about it that just called to me. As an adult, I find the same joy in photography. Every aspect of it is so me. I love meeting and getting to know people. I love interacting with others and using my camera to capture natural moments. And then I love the creative process that goes on once I have the images in front of me. When I catch myself smiling, I know I've captured something good.
I prefer to use natural, outdoor light in my photography. I just find that fresh air and space bring out the best in people and in my work. There are some situations that call for indoor, natural images (i.e. newborn pictures, etc.). In those cases, I will still avoid using my flash like the plague so get ready to watch me hunt for the best indoor natural light in your space. If you want perfectly posed pictures against a plain indoor backdrop (you know the kind I mean) where everyone is behaving, shirts are all tucked in, and no one is dirty, please contact someone else. That type of photography is completely foreign to me. I capture real life. I like silly, unruly, unstructured, wonderfully imperfect subjects. Don't go buy a special outfit. Don't stress over your hair. Who cares if your kid has no front teeth. That's life and it's all good. Just show up as you are and I will do my best to capture that goodness. It's that simple!
Investment
In terms of your investment in time and money, a shoot generally lasts 1-2 hours and will run $100 (due at time of session, please). Images will be available as soon as humanly possible, at which time you may purchase them a la carte. I'm not a fan of packages because I don't want you to feel stuck with sizes you don't want or need. Get what you want and in whatever number. If you need specific prices on products, let me know.
